Residential Electric Lawn Mower Rebate Program Expanding to Include Leaf Blowers, Trimmers, and Chainsaws

South Coast AQMD’s newly expanded Residential Electric Lawn & Garden Rebate Program now includes more than just lawn mowers. Residents in the South Coast Air Basin can replace up to three different gasoline-powered pieces of equipment with zero-emission, battery-electricmodels. Lawn mowers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, and handheld trimmers are all eligible. Trimmers can include weed wackers, edgers, and brush cutters.

The program offers up to $250 rebate per piece of equipment. Rebates are provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and the destruction of the old gasoline equipment is required. Each participant can receive up to three rebates, for three different eligible electric lawn & garden equipment types with corresponding scrapping of a gasoline-powered equivalent. The new equipment must be cordless and include a battery with charger to receive the rebate. Applications must be submitted online.
