In developing community-specific solutions to air quality issues identified in each of the study areas, a general work plan has been created to provide an organized approach for implementation and documentation of the process and progress. May 23, 2012 - Bus Tour
AQMD staff, working group members, and other invited members participated in a bus tour that highlighted air quality in Boyle Heights.
May 12, 2012 - Community of Boyle Heights Lawn Mower Exchange
Program allows residents of Boyle Heights to turn in their working gas-powered lawn mower and purchase a new cordless rechargeable electric mower at a discounted price.

December 2011 - AQMD Approves Clean-Technology Grants
AQMD approves three grant programs to help reduce air pollution and toxic air contaminants in Boyle Heights and San Bernardino.

Fireplace inserts now available to purchase.
November-December 2011 - Diesel Truck Replacement Program
25 older diesel trucks replaced with new and cleaner diesel trucks. Ribbon cutting ceremony on February 23, 2012.

AQMD Leaf Blower Exchange sold out event at East Los Angeles College, Stadium Lot from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. A total of 201 leaf blowers were exchanged.

Ongoing - UCLA Railyard Study
AQMD is funding a railyard study focusing on three communities near railyards - Commerce/East La, San Bernardino, and West Long Beach. The principal Investigator of the study is Dr. John Froines of UCLA.
