San Bernardino County Supervisor Bill Postmus has formally joined the Governing Board of the South Coast Air Quality Management District.

Postmus, sworn in at the Jan. 9, 2004 AQMD Governing Board meeting, will serve a term ending Jan. 1, 2007.  Postmus will represent San Bernardino County on AQMD’s Board.

Postmus, 32, is vice-chairman of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors. He was elected First District Supervisor in November 2000, representing the largest county supervisory district in the contiguous United States.

He also is chairman of the Mojave Desert Air Quality Management District, past president of San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG) and a Local Agency Formation Commissioner.

Postmus is a member of several additional governing boards, including the Victor Valley Economic Development Authority (VVEDA) and the Victor Valley Transit Authority, and he is Chairman of First 5 San Bernardino. He is a member of the Public Lands Steering Committee of the National Association of Counties. A resident of Hesperia, Mr. Postmus is a graduate of the University of Redlands.

In addition to Postmus joining the Board, three AQMD Board Members were reappointed last week to terms ending Jan. 15, 2008:
