Analyzing Cumulative Impacts from Air Toxics in CEQA Documents
CEQA requires an analysis of direct, indirect, and cumulative impacts from proposed projects, including air toxic emissions. In 2022, South Coast AQMD initiated a public process to update existing South Coast AQMD cumulative analysis guidance that was developed in 2003 by forming a working group. The following meetings have been held with the goal of developing additional guidance that will focus on recommended approaches for analyzing cumulative air quality impacts from increased concentrations of air toxics during a project's operation.
