| Laki T. Tisopulos, Ph.D., P.E. is the Assistant Deputy Executive Officer for
Planning, Rule Development & Area Sources. His responsibilities include
developing regulations to reduce emissions from chemical process plants,
refineries and other stationary and area sources, as well as coordinating
development activities for the Air Quality Management Plan.
Dr. Tisopulos joined the AQMD in February 1988 as an Air Quality Engineer.
He has supervised and managed a wide variety of programs, including mobile,
stationary, transportation, and particulate matter reduction programs. Prior to
joining AQMD, he was a Research Advisor and an Assistant Researcher in USC’s
Department of Chemical Engineering and a teaching assistant in USC’s
Departments of Mathematics and Chemical Engineering.
Dr. Tisopulos holds a Doctorate and Master's Degree in Chemical
Engineering from the University of Southern California and a California
Professional Engineer License.
