| Patrick (Rick) Pearce serves as the
Chief Financial Officer for the AQMD. In this position, Rick is responsible
for the financial management of AQMD operations. Born and raised in
Southern California, Rick received a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the
University of California, Irvine and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of
Southern California. Rick is also a graduate of the USC Environmental
Management Institute and is an AGA Certified Government Financial Manager.
Since joining the AQMD in 1979, Rick has developed a strong understanding
of agency operations. His career at the AQMD has included positions as an
Air Quality Inspector; an Air Quality Specialist in Planning;
and as a Financial Analyst and Finance & Budget Manager. In 1992, Rick was
appointed to his current position.
In addition to his work at the AQMD, Rick has been an active member of
the Air and Waste Management Association (AWMA) West Coast Section serving
as its treasurer in 1991 and 1992. He is the past Treasurer of the
Brain & Lung Tumor & Air Pollution Foundation and the Adopt-A-School
Bus Foundation. Currently, Rick is serving as Chairman of the Board of
Directors of the Fiscal Credit Union. Rick is also an active member of the
Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), the Association of
Government Accountants (AGA), and the California Air Pollution Control
Officers Association (CAPCOA) Finance Committee.
